Thiago Alcântara, known as Iae Break, has more than 3 million followers in Brazil and was on the passenger list for the helicopter with registration PP-MAC. The flight took off on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the western zone of Rio de Janeiro. It never landed.
At 08:59 local time, that helicopter collided mid-flight with another aircraft. The crash into a private parking lot sparked a fire that destroyed 20 electric vehicles. On board were Argentine YouTuber Gaspar Prim ‘Gaspi,’ American singer Oliver Tree —32 years old, from California—, music video director Lucas Vignale, producer Lucas Frota, and pilot Alexandre Souza. All six died.
Iae Break was not on board because he had a previously scheduled commitment that prevented him from boarding. It was not a last-minute decision or a premonition: it was an appointment in his calendar. There is a second survivor: producer Victor Waoo, who also did not board because he was afraid of flying, and it was Oliver Tree himself who got him a car for the trip. Two different commitments. Two lives that went on.
