Rebecca Afolabi has not even competed yet, and she already has half the internet arguing.
The young woman is the current Universal Woman Great Britain 2025/26 and will be responsible for representing Great Britain in the international Universal Woman 2026 competition. Although she was born in the United States, she has lived much of her life in London and also spent several years of her childhood in Nigeria.
But as soon as her official images began circulating, social media filled with comments about her appearance and whether or not she fits what some people expect from a beauty queen.
Rebecca, however, arrives at the pageant with much more than a crown. She works in digital marketing, creates content about makeup and K-pop, and founded The Queen Becca Foundation, an initiative through which she has provided menstrual hygiene products and funded students’ education in Nigeria.
While social media continues debating her appearance, she is preparing to represent Great Britain alongside candidates from different countries.
