The 34-year-old actor shared the discovery during an episode of his podcast, Wildmen, published on October 20, 2026.
It all began when he researched his family tree and found that his parents’ families had crossed paths in California during the 19th-century gold rush.
According to him, the two branches came together through marriages, split apart over generations, and met again when his parents married, unaware of that shared past.
Another detail left him perplexed: there were seven pairs of twins across four generations.
Dylan immediately called Cole to show him what he had discovered, but his brother didn’t want to look at the information and ended up hanging up on him.
The story got even stranger when he mentioned an aunt who, according to his account, had absorbed her twin in the womb.
He said that when a cyst was removed from her shoulder, teeth and hair were found inside it.
Finally, Dylan summed up his research with a striking statement:
“In short, Cole and I are products of incest”.
His statement refers to connections between ancestors in both families; it does not confirm that his parents were close relatives.
