Not long ago, they were just a group of children dancing barefoot in the streets of Uganda. Today, those same feet are stepping onto New York.

The Ghetto Kids, the children’s collective that won over the internet with their infectious joy, arrived in the city to take part in the World Cup final alongside Shakira. On social media, they shared the moment dancing “Dai Dai” through the streets: “New York, we’re ready 🇺🇸🔥 Hello Uganda 🇺🇬 and Africa, this is for you!”, they wrote, and they did not forget to thank the Colombian singer for the opportunity.
Behind every dance step is an entire neighborhood that watched them grow up and a continent that is thrilled for them. Sometimes the world notices those who least expect applause 🌎🕺
