The color of vaginal discharge is not dirt: it tells your body something important, and no one taught you that in school 🩺

No one explained it to you in school, your mom probably didn’t know either, and shame did the rest. 😤 Vaginal discharge is one of the most important defense mechanisms of the female body — and yet, millions of women grow up believing it is something dirty or shameful.

The reality is that its color tells a story:

1. Clear or light white is completely normal and can indicate active ovulation.

2. Brown is usually old blood, typical before or after your period.

3. Thick white discharge with itching may indicate a yeast infection, a treatable infection.

4. But yellow, green, or gray discharge with a bad odor does deserve immediate attention — it could be bacterial vaginosis or even a sexually transmitted infection.

5. Pink, meanwhile, may appear at the beginning of a pregnancy or due to hormonal changes.

The body is always sending signals. 🔍 The problem is that no one taught us how to read them. Share this with the women you love, because knowing your own body is not a luxury — it is prevention.
