Vera Farmiga is 51 years old and has a mark she cannot explain.
It appeared on her leg while she was filming The Conjuring: Last Rites, the movie in which she plays paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren. She told E! News about it in August 2025 and showed the photo: a bruise in the exact shape of a cross. Sometimes upright. Sometimes inverted.
According to her, it is not the first time. She says these “inexplicable bruise shapes” appear on her body every time she works on the saga, with no blow, no cause, no warning. Her co-star Patrick Wilson, who plays Ed Warren, prefers not to discuss these episodes in public; both avoid giving a sensationalist tone to the real cases that inspire the franchise.
There is no medical or forensic examination that confirms the origin of the mark. All that remains is her word, the photograph, and a question that has hovered over the set for years: coincidence or something that decided to leave its mark?
