María Fernanda Rodríguez, Mafer, was 30 years old and about to meet her daughter. Hours after giving birth, at a private hospital in Mexico City, she suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. She fell into a coma. When she woke up, she could no longer see or move her legs.
Her husband, influencer Brandon Hernández, known as Soy El May, has spent more than 40 days documenting the nightmare. He says the hospital delayed key tests such as an MRI, denied access to outside doctors, and gave them a bill that already exceeds 3.8 million pesos, while Mafer remains with a tracheostomy and unable to be transferred.
The family has already obtained a court injunction, and the case has reached the prosecutor’s office. So far, the hospital has not responded publicly. How much longer will Mafer have to wait for answers?
