In January 2025, a Lyft driver in Detroit refused to take her, claiming she would not fit in the car and that its tires could not support her weight.
The rapper sued the company for discrimination, and the case ended in a confidential settlement. It should have been closure, but for her it was only the beginning of another wound.
Dank says her own city turned the episode into a joke instead of supporting her. “I feel like the city let me down”, she said, adding that Detroit is more willing to talk about her controversies than to acknowledge her music and work. For her, the hardest blow did not come from a stranger in a car, but from her own people. “I am very disappointed”.
