Master Poe Poe is eight months old, has ginger fur, and the biggest eyes you can imagine. And he uses them exactly like the character from Shrek: with a single round, pleading look, he gets his owner Deborah De Asis, 39, who lives in the Netherlands, to drop everything she’s doing and run to get him something tasty. 🐱
Deborah filmed the moment in November 2020, and the video went viral in seconds. It’s not hard to understand why: seeing that cat strike the pose — head slightly tilted, eyes opened as wide as possible, with an expression of “I just want a hug and maybe a cookie”— is exactly what the animated character voiced by Antonio Banderas used to do to get his way. Deborah herself summed it up bluntly: “He is definitely the real-life Puss in Boots, he’s only missing the hat”.
The difference from the storybook character is that Poe Poe doesn’t have any hidden agenda. His only crime is wanting treats and cuddles, and he has the perfect weapon to get them. 🐾
