Caty Nixon broke down over a plate of food. After attending a stillbirth and working more than 50 hours in four days, the 29-year-old nurse arrived for dinner at her twin sister’s home in Forney, Texas. Laura McIntyre captured the moment: Caty was crying, with her half-finished meal on her lap.
Laura posted the photo on Facebook on October 10 to thank her sister and the nurses. The image received more than 100.000 “likes”, and former patients also responded: one sent a video of Caty playing with her child; another went to the hospital just to hug her. Nixon said that the families’ pain follows her home too, although her work usually brings her joy. The support of her loved ones helped her get through that difficult night.
