In one of her last videos, Duda tearfully said that the pain was so severe that she could not stop vomiting.
Maria Eduarda Alves dos Santos, known on social media as Duda Alves, was 22 years old and had more than 700 thousand followers on TikTok, where she shared humorous videos, her daily life, and moments with her friends and partner.
Weeks before her death, she had undergone breast reduction surgery. The young woman explained that she made the decision both for comfort and aesthetic reasons and, during her postoperative recovery, showed how it was progressing. In one of those posts, she said that she had been experiencing severe pain and vomiting for weeks, as well as days when she ended up crying because of how unwell she felt.
Duda died on September 13, and her family publicly confirmed the news two days later. Her death was especially surprising because those posts about her recovery were still very recent.
The circumstances of her death remain under investigation, and so far, it has not been confirmed that the surgery was related to her death.
