Gracie Bon, the Panamanian influencer and model, posted six photos of herself dressed in white among scattered bricks and destroyed beds after the October 9 earthquake in Panama. Within 24 hours, the series had racked up about 210.000 likes and thousands of comments accusing her of exploiting the tragedy to attract attention.
At first, she said she wasn’t monetizing any of it and had helped with money out of her own pocket. Then she showed the statistics: about $166,82 between October 11 and 16, according to her. She said she had already donated that amount, although the sources don’t specify to whom, and it has not been independently verified. The figure comes from the dashboard she herself shared.
