Every kiss between Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine in ‘The Idea of You’ needed an unexpected ally: Listerine mouthwash strips. An intimacy coordinator handed them out between takes, while both actors repeated those scenes over and over for the film released in April 2024.
When filming ended, Hathaway did not say goodbye with a card or a formal hug. She commissioned a painting made entirely from those used strips, an object that sums up months of intimate work in front of the cameras.
Galitzine, 29, told British GQ that the artwork now hangs in his apartment. “Every time I see it, I think of her”, he confessed. A filming memory transformed into art, hanging where no one would expect to find such an anecdote. 🎨
