Buster was born black, like any Labrador. But something started to change. 🐾

First, some white spots appeared on his chin. Then around his eyes. After that, little by little, his dark coat disappeared until, two and a half years later, the dog was unrecognizable: completely white from head to tail. His owner, Matt Smith, from Oklahoma City, did not understand what was happening until the veterinarian gave him the diagnosis: vitiligo, the same autoimmune condition Michael Jackson had. The disease causes the immune system to attack the pigment-producing cells, and although it sounds alarming, it does not cause Buster any pain or harm to his health. ✨
Matt posted a before-and-after comparison on Reddit, and the photos immediately went viral. The comments were quick to come: “He’s the Michael Jackson of dogs”, someone wrote. Breeds like the Labrador, the Husky, and the Rottweiler are more predisposed to developing it. Did you know that dogs can also have vitiligo? 🐶
