Patrick Stewart is 85 years old and has spent a quarter of a century giving voice and face to Professor X. Now a rumor is spreading across the internet: this would be the last time we see him act in any role.
The report came from the podcast The Kristian Harloff Show, where the host claimed to have heard that Stewart would be “done with acting” after Avengers: Doomsday. Neither the actor nor his representatives have said a word about it, either to confirm it or deny it.
There are reasons to doubt it: Stewart has already said goodbye to the character several times before, they even killed him off in Logan in 2017, and in past interviews he insisted that he never seriously considered a full retirement. The only sure thing is that on December 18, 2026, you will see him one more time as Professor X in theaters. If it is the last, no one knows for certain yet.
