The international scientific community is already preparing for an unprecedented astronomical milestone in the modern era.

According to data provided by NASA, there will be a complete blockage of sunlight that will reach a maximum duration of 6 minutes and 23 seconds of absolute darkness. This exceptional event will not occur again with the same characteristics for 157 years.

The shadow of the lunar disk will move across a densely populated strip spanning southern Spain; in North Africa in countries such as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt; and in the Middle East including Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Places such as the historic city of Luxor in Egypt and the town of Tarifa in Spain will be left in total darkness at high noon on August 2, 2027.
