In a conversation with Ezzequiel, the Paraguayan was direct: “Mediocre people go through life thinking about not failing. And successful people only think about winning. That is why there are so few stars like us in the world”. A phrase that sounds like both a warning and an autobiography at the same time.
Chilavert also referred to his position on the pitch and explained that “being a goalkeeper is not for just anyone; only a few of us are privileged enough to reach an excellent level of play”, demonstrating that humility is not something that suits his personality.
