“The more relaxed you are, the better everything will go for you. Better with your loved ones, better with your enemies, better at work, and better with yourself”. —Bill Murray

Bill Murray has a fairly simple philosophy for surviving chaos: don’t take everything so seriously.

The actor and comedian, known for his dry humor and that carefree personality he brought to many of his characters, has built a decades-long career while maintaining precisely that image of someone who seems to move through life without too much rigidity.

From Saturday Night Live to films such as Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, and Lost in Translation, Murray turned that relaxed style into part of his trademark.

The phrase sums up that way of looking at things quite well: lowering the tension can not only change how we face work or problems, but also the way we relate to those we love and even those we don’t.

Perhaps that’s why his advice sounds so simple: when you stop fighting everything, you also begin to get along better with yourself.
