Ecuador’s president eliminated the beer tax for the entire World Cup — and the price drops by up to 20% 🍺🇪🇨

There are presidents who promise stadiums, championship national teams, and global stars. Daniel Noboa promised something more humble — and probably more celebrated. 🎉

Ecuador’s president announced at a public event that his government will eliminate the ICE, the tax on special consumption levied on alcoholic beverages, for the entire World Cup. The measure applies from now until July 19, includes beer and any “drink consumed in moderation”, and translates into savings of up to 20% on the final price. Noboa explained it plainly: the idea is “to accompany people during an event they usually share with family and friends”. Hard to argue with that logic. ⚽🍺

The Ecuadorian internet, as was to be expected, didn’t take even 10 minutes to crown him. Because while football hands out joy by the drop, your wallet already has a concrete reason to celebrate. 🙌
