A video from the South Korean army became the center of a global storm. 🌪️ The footage shows hundreds of soldiers sitting on the ground, clapping and reacting enthusiastically while a dancer performs in front of them — all as part of a show organized by the armed forces to boost the troops’ morale before their service.

What some see as a completely valid tradition — comparable to the classic entertainment shows for military personnel that existed during earlier wars — for others crossed a line. Criticism quickly came in from different parts of the world, calling the performance inappropriate and incompatible with the image of a modern military institution. 🤔

A legitimate strategy to keep soldiers’ morale high, or a spectacle that has no place within the armed forces? The debate remains open. 👇
