This Sphynx cat grew up inside Cereso 3 in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, alongside Ernesto Alfredo Piñón de la Cruz, alias “El Neto”, leader of the Los Mexicles gang.
When “El Neto'” escaped from the prison in January 2023 and died days later during an operation, the cat was left alone behind bars, with an eagle and the phrase “Made in Mexico” marked on its skin. The authorities in Ciudad Juárez rescued him and put him up for adoption.
10 applications came in, including those from animal protection organizations in Los Angeles and Texas. Until someone from Texas took him home. Today he lives peacefully, healthy and loved, far from the bars he once knew.
They named him “Kilo” 🐱, and months later the authorities confirmed that he is in excellent condition; he even has two siblings of the same species. The boss left his criminal life behind, never having chosen to be part of it.
