Anna Haining Swan reached 7 feet and 11 inches, about 2,41 meters, making her one of the tallest women in history.

🇨🇦Born in Nova Scotia in 1846, she reached that height at age 17, and her extraordinary height was recorded in numerous photographs from the era.

In 1871, she married Martin Van Buren Bates, another man of exceptional height, and together they were recognized as the tallest married couple in history. At a time when medicine still had a very limited understanding of the causes of extreme growth, Anna became known for a characteristic that would make her just as extraordinary today.
She died in 1888, at age 41.
