Jamie Vardy revealed that throughout his childhood he believed Phil Vardy was his biological father, until in 2016, at the height of his success with Leicester City after winning the Premier League, he discovered that he was actually his stepfather.
The truth came to light when Richard Gill was publicly identified as his real father. Although he heard rumors when he was young, his family never wanted to explain anything clearly to him.
The impact ended up completely breaking his family relationship. As he recounts in the documentary, he confronted his mother, Lisa, upset that she had hidden the truth from him for so many years.
Since then, Vardy decided to distance himself from both his mother and Phil Vardy and focus solely on protecting his wife, Rebekah, and his children, with his family as his only priority.
