Roy Keane has strong opinions about almost everything, but nobody expected World Cup shirts to be his big battle. 😅 The former Manchester United captain launched into an epic rant on The Overlap alongside Gary Neville and Ian Wright. It deeply annoys him that players’ wives and girlfriends wear shirts with their partner’s name on the back during the tournament.
“The kids, fine. But partners with the shirt and the name… wow. A year later most of them are split up”, Keane fired off bluntly, while Neville and Wright tried not to collapse laughing. Ian Wright stepped in to defend the custom: “Her husband is playing, she’s proud and wants to wear his shirt. It’s that simple.” Keane didn’t give an inch. 😂

The irony is that Keane himself has a complicated history with WAGs: in 2014 he harshly criticized then-United player Michael Carrick, and Carrick’s wife, Lisa, hit back at him with a forceful insult on social media that she later deleted. Keane, being one to hold grudges, got his payback 12 years later. 🎯
