Moses Mujurizi appears handcuffed and looking down. That is the image General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, head of the Uganda Defence Forces, posted on X on October 26, 2026, to announce his capture.

According to the military officer, who is the son of President Yoweri Museveni, the detainee killed and ate 38 people between 2010 and 2025 in the districts of Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo. He called him “the worst serial killer and cannibal in Uganda’s history” and promised something else: “We will try him in public and definitely execute him”.

For now, the figure is an accusation by the general, not a conclusion proven in court. According to local media, the suspect was arrested for murder and human trafficking following the discovery of a dead woman in the Masaka region on September 28. It was also reported that he had been arrested several times over the past decade and had managed to escape custody.

Authorities are investigating possible accomplices and reviewing cases of missing people that were never solved. And one question remains open: Will the disappearances end after this arrest? Because unfortunately, it has still not been confirmed that Mujurizi is the same man described in police reports from 2013.
