In the digital age, the boundaries between the ancestral and the modern seem to be erased completely.
The most recent and striking example is Raquel Freita (@raquel_freita), a young woman belonging to the Tikuna indigenous ethnic group, a native people settled deep in the Amazon rainforest, who has become a true global phenomenon

Her videos, recorded in completely natural settings, have dazzled millions, but they have also sparked a fierce debate that keeps growing.
Raquel shares clips in which she is seen wearing the traditional red and black body paint characteristic of her people, along with feather accessories and handcrafted necklaces. Combining her roots with a modern aesthetic, swimsuits, and poses worthy of an international runway model.

On the other side of the coin, a few users accuse the young woman of “commercializing” or “hypersexualizing” the sacred customs of the Tikuna ethnic group just to gain followers.
Do you think it is a beautiful form of cultural pride, or that it crosses the line of respect for her traditions?
