Their dad was still at work when they started preparing the surprise.
They were young siblings who, according to a neighbor, lived in a hut in the city of Batangas, in the Philippines. They had no money to buy balloons for their father’s birthday, but they weren’t going to let the day pass without celebrating. So they took plastic bags, filled them with air, and wrote “Happy birthday, Dad” on them. They hung them from the ceiling, one next to another, until they had turned their home into a little party.

Melody Silang, the neighbor who saw them preparing the surprise, photographed the scene and posted the pictures on Facebook. They soon began to be shared, and many people were touched by the simple gesture.

Those children had no money to buy decorations, but they had found a way to prepare something special for their dad. They didn’t need a big party or expensive gifts. They just wanted to welcome him with a surprise they had made themselves.
And sometimes, love looks exactly like that: making a lot out of a little, just to see someone you care about happy.
