A 230-million-peso operation and, amid defibrillators and physiotherapy tables, a number that stands out on its own: 60,000 condoms 🏥

They will be distributed in the villages where the 4,000 athletes from 15 countries competing in the 2026 South American Games in Rosario will be staying. The calculation: that’s 15 condoms per athlete, for two weeks of competition sharing the same roof.

Estefanía Casadei, director of the Department of Comprehensive Health Management of Santa Fe, was the one who confirmed the figure and explained that the idea is not only to prevent, but also to support the athletes with information and care tools throughout the event. In the end, the detail that was bound to go unnoticed ended up being the most talked-about aspect of the operation 👀
