In the rocky areas of Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda lives an animal that looks like it came straight out of a comic book.
It is called the Mwanza flat-headed rock agama, but everyone knows it as the Spider-Man lizard for an obvious reason: its head, neck and shoulders are bright red or violet, while the rest of its body is an intense blue, as if it were wearing the superhero’s suit.
This striking color appears only in males, which are also territorial, jealous and often have up to five breeding partners. Nature, once again, got ahead of Marvel. 🦎
