Theresa Nyirakajumba claims to be 123 years old. And she claims something even harder to believe: that she has never been with a man.
In an interview with the Afrimax English channel, this Kenyan woman showed her identity card on camera to support her age, with a date of birth that would place her in the year 1900.
She says that in her youth she rejected several suitors because she did not feel ready, or because she never found the special connection she was looking for.
She explains that in her community, families had to formally introduce young women to men, a step her own family never took. Neighbors in the area support her story: they say that in more than a century of life, they never saw her with anyone.
Today, tired of an existence she describes as lonely and boring, Theresa does not give up. After 123 years, she is still waiting to find the man with whom to share what remains of her life.
