Fátima Diame uploaded a training video and the comments weren’t talking about her technique, but about her body. 🥉
The Spanish jumper, a world bronze medalist, decided to speak out in 2023 and recounted the constant harassment she suffered on social media because of her physique. Her complaint had a real impact: the Spanish Athletics Federation launched a cleanup that ended up deleting more than 600 videos and several YouTube channels dedicated to exploiting the bodies of Spanish female athletes.
Two years later, in 2025, Diame spoke about the issue again, and the news was not good. She said that the complaint “had accomplished little”, that she continues to receive the same comments every time she uploads something, and that the harassment changed her personality: she no longer likes taking photos of herself as she used to. 😔 She won one battle against 600 videos, but the war against harassment remains unwon.
