For the parents of a premature baby, a diaper can mean much more than that: it can be the first sign that their child, even if they can fit in one hand, has a chance.
That is why tiny diapers exist, designed for the smallest newborns and to accompany them during their first days in intensive care.
Derrick Hall was one of them. He was born 16 weeks early, weighing just 1,2 kilos, and doctors gave him a 1% chance of surviving that first night. His body was so small that he needed one of those special diapers.
