Tatjana Genrich had been in Germany for only a few years when she started boxing to defend herself against bullying at school.

She was born in Russia, arrived in the country in 2003, and was amateur flyweight champion three years in a row. Then she traded her gloves for the catwalk and became a model.

She founded her own agency in Magdeburg and was crowned Miss Germany in January 2022. But she never left the ring behind entirely.

Promoter Ulf Steinforth, of SES Boxing, had discovered her at a sports school in Halle and has now invited her to return. She said yes.

On November 14, at 33, she will make her professional debut in Magdeburg: four two-minute rounds, at around 48 kilos. She trains five days a week with Dirk Dzemski.

Her opponent has not yet been announced, but her goal is clear: to climb the ranks until she gets a shot at a world title.
