Martina was 8 years old when she started hearing comments about her body hair.
At school, they called her a “werewolf”. The taunts were so constant that at 11 she began permanent hair removal treatment, hoping they would finally leave her alone.

More than two decades later, Martina Díaz, an Argentine TikTok influencer, did the exact opposite. She stopped removing her body hair and started showing herself as she is: with thick eyebrows, hair on her legs and face, without filters or hiding it.

It all began in 2020, when she stopped plucking her eyebrows because she no longer had as many social events. That’s when she realized that this routine was tied to everything else and came to a conclusion: “hair removal makes no sense”.

The comments haven’t disappeared. People still write to her “so ugly” and “so gross”, and even attribute hormonal imbalances to her that, she says, she doesn’t have. She questions why something exactly the same is so condemned in women and accepted without a problem in men.

Her advice: “Work on your self-esteem and confidence, because when you feel secure in yourself, other people’s comments matter a lot less”.
