Marcos Llorente and Ferran Torres were celebrating the 2026 World Cup title when photos of them hugging and kissing each other on the cheek went viral, and with them came a wave of homophobic comments that Llorente no longer wanted to ignore.
The Atlético de Madrid player responded without filters:
“I’m surprised that in 2026 it still sparks debate when two men show affection to each other”. And he went further, stating that “there is nothing more masculine than a self-assured man who is not afraid to show affection to another friend”.
Llorente, married to Paddy Noarbe and a family man, did not need to defend himself. He simply put those who still confuse affection with weakness in their place. 💬
