Henry Cavill has been one of the most desired men in the world for years, so the internet clearly was not prepared to see him in a bad photo. It only took one image circulating in which he supposedly looked more tired, older, and less polished for the usual comments to start: that he aged, that he no longer looks the same, what happened to him.
But now several fans claim that image was altered with AI to make him look worse. And looking at the comparison, it at least makes you want to wonder how real any of it was.
There is also the simpler possibility: that it was a photo taken from a terrible angle, with bad lighting, or right in an unflattering expression. Because it can happen to anyone, even Henry Cavill. The problem is that when it comes to someone so idealized, one bad image becomes material for public judgment.
The curious thing is that this says more about the internet than about Henry. Because as soon as a celebrity stops looking exactly like the version everyone froze in their head, the attacks appear. As if aging were a scandal and not something that is going to happen to all of us.
