Shakira and Anitta were accused of alleged plagiarism by two young Argentine women following the release of “Choka Choka”, the song linked to the 2026 World Cup.

The Argentine duo “Sarao” claimed on social media that the track would have similarities to a song they released months earlier. As they explained, they would not only find similarities in the melody, but also in parts of the lyrics, the choreography, and even the music video’s aesthetic.

The artists shared videos comparing both songs, and the internet quickly began to split. While some users commented things like “they totally copied them”, others defended Shakira and Anitta, saying they would be just musical coincidences.

Sarao says that taking legal action would be complicated because “the melody is not exactly the same”.

Antes que nada: Si. Tenemos registrada la canción, pasa que como la melodía no es exactamente igual, legalmente no hay mucho que podamos hacer. Nos ayudan a llegar a ellas etiquetándolas ? 😫🙏
