The reason the crew gave for blocking access to the bathroom was not arbitrary. The plane was refueling after landing, a standard airline protocol that prevents the use of the lavatories during that phase. The puddle formed in the cabin aisle, meters from the galley area, under the gaze of the other passengers, who captured the scene on their own phones. The outrage on board was immediate.
