Not every wedding needs a grand hall to become an unforgettable day. ❤️ Jamie and George Callicoat, two McDonald’s employees, decided to get married at the same restaurant in Akron, Ohio, where they share their workdays. What began as a joke ended up becoming a real ceremony, with coworkers, family members, and friends as guests.
To celebrate, the dining room was closed and specially decorated for them, but there was one part of the McDonald’s that never stopped operating: the drive-thru. While Jamie arrived dressed as a bride and the couple exchanged vows, on the other side of the restaurant customers continued picking up their orders as on any other day.
The celebration also had its own menu, far from the usual burgers and fries, with rigatoni, pulled pork, and buffalo chicken dip. Even the invited children were able to eat for free.
But perhaps the moment that best portrays the newlyweds happened when everyone began to leave. Instead of saying goodbye and leaving the work to their coworkers, Jamie and George stayed to help clean and organize the restaurant. Even the best man picked up a broom to help.
“We couldn’t leave our coworkers like that”, they later explained.
Then the time finally came to celebrate as newlyweds, and they headed to Cedar Point for their honeymoon. Their wedding may not have had a luxurious venue, but it had something much more personal: they got married where they share their days and ended the night working as a team, just as they always do. ❤️
