They got married in the hospital hours before his skull was opened: “I didn’t want to go into the operating room without her being my wife”

Before doctors opened his skull, he had just one thing left to do: get married.

The couple organized a wedding in record time inside the hospital, with the groom still in a gown and the monitors as witnesses. There was no banquet or elaborate wedding dress, but there were real vows, spoken with the urgency of people who know the hours count. The craniotomy, one of the most delicate neurological surgeries there is, was scheduled for just a few hours later, and neither of them wanted to reach that moment without having taken that step. 💍

Stories like this remind us that love does not wait for perfect conditions. Sometimes it is celebrated under fluorescent lights, among nurses and cold hallways, because the only thing that matters is that the person you love knows, before anything else, that they are already yours and you are theirs.
