Samantha Hutchinson was 34 years old and still wearing her wedding dress when she died.
She had left her own wedding reception minutes earlier in Folly Beach, South Carolina, on April 28, 2023, along with her husband Aric Hutchinson and two relatives, all aboard a golf cart. Jamie Lee Komoroski, then 25, struck them while driving 65 miles per hour in a 25 zone, with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit. Samantha died instantly. Aric suffered a brain hemorrhage and severe fractures.
Now, a new police video released in August 2026 shows Komoroski at the police station, crying and looking directly at the camera to say they would not let her call her father, insisting that ‘they haven’t proven anything.’ She has already been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to DUI resulting in death and reckless homicide. Aric, meanwhile, sued the bars that served her alcohol that night.
