J arrived at the wedding in a tuxedo, pink bow tie, white gloves, and a flower in its hands. No one questioned it.
The llama was Adam and Tara’s best man, a couple who met 16 years ago and wanted a wedding with a guest no one would forget. The animal was hired from Llama Adventures and was part of the Maison Albion mansion experience in New York State. It was at the ceremony, the toast, and the meal, and posed alongside the newlyweds as if it had held the position all its life.
Photographer Cathy Craft had already photographed weddings with dogs, but a llama at a reception was a first. She told Newsweek that at first she thought it was a best man dressed as a llama. When she got a closer look, she realized it was exactly the other way around.
The photos went viral, and the post racked up thousands of reactions on Facebook. According to Craft, the initial shock disappeared when she saw the bride’s joy: that’s when it all made sense. Would you have accepted a best man like that?
