Parker didn’t know how to hunt. And because of that, someone decided he deserved nothing more.
In a community in North Carolina, PETA volunteers found him locked in an outdoor cage, becoming increasingly withdrawn, almost forgotten by the man who expected something else from him. They began visiting him. They brought him food, patience, and something Parker had lost: trust. They came back one week, then another, then for an entire year, until his owner finally agreed to let him go.
They had him neutered, vaccinated, and placed him in a foster home while they searched for his place in the world. He adapted to living indoors faster than anyone expected. Today he lives in Florida with a family that loves precisely what once condemned him: his calm nature. He has two beagle siblings, a fireplace to curl up beside, and toys that are now the only things he chases.
