It seemed as if the models were looking at you… even when their eyes were closed 👁️
The strange effect appeared at the Hodakova Spring/Summer 2027 show, where makeup artist Thomas de Kluyver turned the eyelids into a kind of second face.

The technique involved painting another pair of eyes directly onto the eyelids. That way, when the models closed their eyes, the makeup created the illusion that they were still staring straight ahead.

The result is so precise that, at times, it’s hard to tell where the makeup ends and the real expression begins. A look designed to take runway beauty into more surreal and unsettling territory. They closed their eyes… but the gaze was still there.
