They lost their baby at 34 weeks and then suffered a miscarriage. When they returned for an ultrasound, afraid of going through the same thing, they discovered they were expecting twins
They sat in the exam room as they had so many times before, ready to see their baby on the screen.
But this couple arrived with heavy hearts: first, they had lost their child at 34 weeks of pregnancy, and then they suffered a miscarriage. Two blows in a row, two losses no one can see from the outside.
In the video, which TAG24 included in its selection of viral videos on October 4, 2026, the sonographer gave them the news: she was pregnant again, and this time they were expecting twins. There is no reaction a camera could capture better than that of two people who went in expecting an ultrasound and left with twice the life on the way.
One viewer summed up what thousands felt watching it: “They gave you your babies back”. No new heartbeat can replace the one that was lost, but sometimes life opens a door just when it is hardest to believe one exists.
Officially one year since we found out there were two😭🤍 We didn’t initially share this moment because of how intimate and special it was to us. But a year later, we want to share it as a reminder of the incredible ways the Lord worked in our lives through one of the hardest seasons we’ve ever walked through. After grieving the loss of our son, Sutton, followed by a miscarriage, we found ourselves feeling completely out of hope. We had experienced so much loss that it was hard to imagine what could possibly come next. Then came this moment. Finding out we were carrying twins felt like the Lord was reminding us that He hadn’t forgotten about us. That there was still reason to hope. These boys were never a replacement for what we lost. Nothing can be. But their lives became an unexpected and beautiful gift in the middle of our grief — a reminder that God can bring joy into places where we thought there could only be sorrow.
