Camila is no ordinary mare.
In Yucatán, Mexico, a family decided to celebrate her the way one celebrates any loved one expecting a child: with balloons, a decorated tablecloth, cake, and a table full of guests. Neighbors and friends came to the house to accompany the expectant mother, take photos with her, and enjoy an afternoon of games and dancing in her honor.
Her owner had no doubts when describing the bond they share: “She’s like my daughter”. Camila has spent years being a source of companionship and support for the family, helping them work and get around the surrounding area. Now, with her foal about to be born, the mare had the party that many people don’t even dare to organize for a person.
