A situation that began with a stray dog ended with one of the most shocking X-rays ever seen: a man survived after enormous metal tongs pierced his head.
The case occurred in Hunan province, China. Zhang Xuecheng was returning home when he found himself in the middle of an unexpected situation: another man had taken a pair of tongs measuring approximately 30 centimeters and threw them in an attempt to stop a stray dog that had stolen a piece of bacon.
But the object ended up striking Zhang.

The tongs pierced the back of his skull and came out through his forehead, as shown by a striking X-ray taken at the hospital.
The man was rushed to the hospital, and doctors had to perform surgery to remove the metal object.
Surgeon Pu Yuejin explained that the tongs had passed extremely close to an artery in his neck, so any further deviation could have cost him his life.
Despite the severity of the injury, Zhang managed to survive and began recovering in the hospital.
The image is especially striking because it clearly shows the path the object took inside his head.
What was supposed to be simply an attempt to scare off a dog ended up becoming an accident that could have been fatal:
a pair of tongs pierced his skull from side to side and, against all odds, he survived.
