Donna Mills is 85 years old and has spent more than four decades perfecting her smoky eye makeup. She wasn’t about to apologize for it. On April 5, she uploaded a video wearing a leather jacket, lace blouse and jeans: she snapped her fingers and appeared transformed, with her gray hair pulled back, metal-framed glasses and almost no makeup. “Did you want me to look like this? I’m sorry. I like how I look”, she said before returning to her glamorous version. “I like how I look. This is my style. And style has no expiration date”.
The video has accumulated more than 130,000 “likes”, and congratulations came from colleagues such as Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Nancy Sinatra, who is also 85 years old. Mills, remembered as Abby Cunningham in ‘Knots Landing’, has been teaching makeup since before Instagram existed, including a 1986 VHS tutorial whose tips still hold up today.
