“They took away her crown for being pregnant”: the controversy over the removal of Miss Brasil Supranational 2026

Lara Marina was 19 years old and had a national crown when everything changed in 48 hours.

The National Beauty Contest stripped her of the Miss Brasil Supranational 2026 title, citing “breach of contractual obligations”, without mentioning the word pregnancy.

Hours later, she herself revealed in a video that she was expecting a child, discovered after returning from Poland, where she had won third place in Miss Supranational.

Some defend the idea that a contract is a contract and that the rules are signed in advance.

Others believe that punishing motherhood by taking away a crown is pure sexism disguised as fine print. Which side are you on?
