The video seemed clear: a man filling two 20-liter jugs with soda from Costco’s refill machine in Aguascalientes, while an employee explained to him that the service was for personal consumption only. The family left with the containers full, and social media had already passed judgment: complete abuse.

But one detail was missing. Influencer Jorge Alba went to the store to ask the manager directly what had really happened. The answer changed the story completely: the family had bought 100 hot dogs and, with them, paid exactly for the soda they took. In fact, according to the manager, they took less than the amount they were entitled to.

What seemed like abuse turned out to be a bill misread on camera. And along the way, something else was exposed: the person who recorded the video also showed that family’s children, for no reason at all. Sometimes the controversy isn’t where everyone looks first. Were you one of those who criticized them without knowing the facts?
